
Considering it's a French production that isn't on par budget-wise to major Hollywood releases, director Antonin Baudry does a fantastic job immersing the audience into the perspective of Chanteraide and his sonar duties, along with how he and his crewmates tackle their missions, all the while depicting the intricacies of submarine warfare and in a broader sense, the psychological demands of life at sea.ĭirected by Aaron Schneider and starring Tom Hanks, 2020’s Greyhound tells the story of the ship, the USS Keeling, dubbed ‘Greyhound’, which is the commanding vessel of a convoy code named HX-25 comprising 37 Allied ships that have to cross the Atlantic to reach Liverpool, England and offer support to the Allies in WWII. It’s a gripping film that explores submarine tactics and several scenarios that Titane and its crew are thrown into and how they manage those tense situations.
